Fashion must-haves for women on the go

We all desire to look pretty and put together. This can be a challenge for women, especially when you have little ones under toe. Many women change clothes a few times a day due to different appointments, work, or the messes that babies and toddlers make.

Especially if you’re a working mom, it might feel like you’re going through several outfits in a day. That not only makes for a ton of laundry but also can take time and mental energy you could be using in other ways.

Pieces that can easily go from the office to a play date to a dinner out with friends are essential to any woman’s wardrobe. Owning versatile items keeps your wallet happy and your decision fatigue at a minimum.

When you have fewer clothes in your closet, it’s easier to maintain and easier to make a decision on what to wear for the day. Bonus: it cuts down on laundry – hello time (& sanity) saver!

Everyone’s wardrobe is going to be different depending on personal choices, occupations, budgets, needs, etc. But here are some pieces to give you a few ideas if you are looking for some versatile clothing items and ways to update your current wardrobe or maybe rethink some pieces you may already own!

Dresses are possibly my #1 wardrobe item to own in your closet. Dresses are a great, comfortable option for summer when the temps are a little higher. I love transitioning my dresses into fall and winter by wearing them with tights and boots.

Dresses can be dressed up or down, and they can be worn across multiple seasons. Dress up a dress with a blazer or cardigan and heels or boots for work, then dress it down with flats or sneakers and a jean jacket for play!

Speaking of blazers, a good, structured blazer is a closet staple. For the most versatility, I’d recommend choosing a neutral-colored blazer, like black or grey. If you are more of a color person, a blazer in a fun color is a great way to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit!

A longer-line blazer is a flattering fit on almost every body type, and it’s a great way to dress up a basic top with trousers for work. Pair it with jeans and a fun graphic tee for a play date or weekend brunch!

Camisoles aren’t just a basic under garment these days. They now come in fun prints, fabrics, and cuts appropriate to wear under cardigans and blazers for the workplace. When paired with your favorite pair of jeans, they elevate a basic outfit for a date night out or play date on the weekend.

This leopard print camisole would work in the office paired with a wide-leg trouser and a cardigan, then change into jeans after work, and you’re ready for practice after school or a dinner out with friends!

Paperbag Pants

I feel like I’m late to the paperbag pant trend, but I finally found some that I like and fit me really well! These high-waisted wide-leg pants are flattering and comfortable for the office, but paired with a jean jacket and sneakers, they’re also a cute option for the weekend running errands and meeting up with friends.

Having clothing items that can be used in multiple ways for different occasions can help you save money and time, as well as decrease your mental energy and decision fatigue. I hope these pieces give you some new ideas for adding versatility to your closet and maybe rethink some pieces you may already have in your closet!
